Speaking with OXM, Walters claims “Given our spring release date, I’m not sure exactly what we’re going to be able to support at that time, but we have a strong service plan for ME that will continue past our release date… if we do a Game of the Year edition, or a future edition or something like that, that’s something we’d definitely consider looking at,” when asked about the Xbox Scorpio.

Right now, it sounds like Mass Effect: Andromeda is being made for the consoles that are available at market on its launch.  The PlayStation 4 Pro version will see 1800p resolution, while the less powerful PS4 will see 1080p.  The Xbox One will get the lowest resolution of the group at 900p.  According to another recent interview, the frame rates have been capped on all three versions at 30fps.  The Nintendo Switch isn’t even getting Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Regardless, these claims are basically saying that the Xbox One version of Mass Effect: Andromeda won’t take advantage of the more powerful console when it arrives.  Everything we’ve been told by Phil Spencer and co.  have led us to believe that all Xbox One games will work on the Xbox Scorpio.  It’ll be up to the developers to take advantage of the console’s power, much like the way the PlayStation 4 Pro is.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is slated for a March launch, while Microsoft’s Xbox Scorpio console release date is yet to determined.
