Yesterday, the N7 Day was celebrated, and if you are a fan of the Mass Effect franchise, you know what that means. It’s the day when the community gathers and celebrates all the stories and the characters in the amazing BioWare sci-fi universe.

As you might know, the series is on hiatus because of the kind of disappointing performance of Mass Effect Andromeda, which turned out to be quite a technical disaster and, on top of that, not so great in terms of sales, at least in comparison with the expectations.

Anyway, BioWare still has a lot of interest and love in the IP, and this means that it is more than willing to return to it in the future — most likely once they’ve successfully shipped Dragon Age 4, which is currently in the making.

“We have so many ideas for things we want to do in Mass Effect, so much concept art that hasn’t yet been brought to life, and so many stories yet to tell,” general manager Casey Hudson said on Twitter in celebration of the N7 Day.

It looks like the studio already has a lot of preparatory work done for a follow up to the franchise, and has to decide which pitch pick up once they have the green light from publisher and owner Electronic Arts.

Again, if you consider that Dragon Age 4 is not releasing before around early 2022, it’s easy to state that a new Mass Effect should be a next-generation matter and that it could even release very deep into the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett life cycle.
