Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a trilogy that includes combat, and I mean a lot of combat. There are a lot of moments when you’ll be in the heat of battle, taking an incredible amount of fire from all sides as your two squadmates fight to protect you. When you find yourself low though, you may want to heal up so you can get back into the fight without a risk of death. This can be a bit confusing though so, in this guide, I’ll explain exactly how you can heal in Mass Effect Legendary Edition, with the differences between each game.

How to Heal in Mass Effect Legendary Edition

For starters, there’s Mass Effect 1, which requires you to use the limited resource of medi-gel to heal yourself. This can be done by going into the Squadmate Menu and selecting the heal in the middle of your screen. In the event you want to do this just a bit quicker though, there are default keybinds for each platform, shown below:

  • PC = V
  • PlayStation = Triangle
  • Xbox = Y

Press any of these three buttons and, provided you have the resources, you’ll heal yourself in Mass Effect 1. In Mass Effect 2, on the other hand, this gets much simpler as you simply heal automatically. Just get behind cover where you won’t take fire, and you’ll have properly healed yourself up. And finally, with Mass Effect 3, you’ll simply have a First Aid ability which you can activate whenever you or your squadmates are low. Be sure to use it wisely though, as it does have a cooldown.
