While EA has not officially confirmed any existence of the much-rumored Mass Effect Remaster, it seems its release is getting closer with each passing day. Several UK gamers even claimed to have already preordered the remaster of Bioware‘s sci-fi adventure.

A retail listing leak last week shows an “N7 (Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster)” entry with a September 29, 2020 release date in a store database. A Reddit user that goes by u/Waymantis assumed the leak comes from UK retailer, GAME. After hearing the news and knowing that another UK-based user managed to preorder one, they decided to do it as well.

They uploaded photos and screenshots of their receipt as proof. In the receipt below ‘DEP’ stands for ‘deposit’ and, as mentioned before, ‘N7’ is the placeholder/codename for Mass Effect Remaster.

Alleged ex-GAME employees confirm the company’s preordering system in the thread. One Reddit user said,

Other added that there are two ways how GAME is adding new titles into their preorder list:

  • When they are approached by a publisher, most of the time they will only get a code name for their preorder database. Once the official announcement comes up then GAME can change the name.
  • If publishers did not approach them directly and their marketing finds out about the game themselves, then instead of the game is listed as a “preorder”, it will actually be listed as “Register as Interest” (sort of like wishlist) which then can be added into the proper preorder database as the game and item stock numbers get confirmed.
