Has the thought of radioactive evil squirrels ever crossed your mind? Likely not, but it sure has crossed the mind of developer Fluxscopic. Today, along with publisher tinyBuild, they have announced their next project Mayhem in Single Valley. The game is a top-down action-adventure title inspired by both Stranger Things and Zelda. The game will release later in 2020 exclusively for PC.
Mayhem in Single Valley follows the life of Jack, a boy who was planning to leave town for the big city life. His entire world has changed though through some massive events, and now he must find his way out of the town without falling victim to radioactive animals. Who has caused this apocalypse you may ask? You’ll have to play the game to find out. The game will feature many different locations with unique puzzles and unlikely enemies who are looking to claw you apart at first sight. That sounds quite morbid, but radioactive animals aren’t the calmest critters of the forest.
The game will also feature a lot of different survival aspects. You’ll have to craft your own food, healing items, and offensive tools if you are to escape the town. You aren’t alone though, as many NPCs can help you along your way. They’ll all come with their own motives and fears which you could use to your advantage. Will you be a compassionate and caring kid, or will you exploit people’s inner feelings to your advantage? The choice will be up to you. Some other minor features will include a customizable soundtrack, radioactive squirrels (we’re scared too), and much more!
Mayhem in Single Valley will release on Steam at some point in 2020. We’ll let you know when the release date is confirmed. If you haven’t heard of Fluxscopic though, they’re a developer based in Kitchener, Ontario. After one of the developers made You Are Not a Banana, he formed the full studio which is now five members strong. You can find out more about their team and the first game at their website here.
This isn’t the only news that we have for you today. There’s also the newest The Division 2 DLC that was leaked just prior to the announcement, known as Warlords of New York. If you want more news like these, reviews, and more, you can find it at The Nerd Stash!
