Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings will continue their hosting duties through the remainder of Season 38 of Jeopardy. They had replaced Max Richards’ exit. Mayim Bialik has been hosting the television game show for primetime specials. Ken Jennings soon followed, taking over main hosting duties. Fans will have to wait for Season 39 for new hosts. Bialik has said she wants to be the full-time host but the scheduling would conflict with her Fox scripted comedy Call Me Kat. Currently, Sony has no plans to test any new hosts. There have been many people who have volunteered to take over for the late Alex Trebek, including LeVar Burton, Katie Couric, Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Anderson Cooper, Buzzy Cohen, David Faber, and Aaron Rodgers. For now Season 38 Jeopardy hosts remain Bialik and Jennings.

The television game show acquired controversy when executive producer Mike Richards announced himself as Trebek’s hosting replacement. Richards was fired by Sony after his discrimination lawsuits were made public. Bialik and Jennings have the hosting job for Jeopardy Season 38. Sony is not eager to choose a permanent host. Fans created a petition so LeVar Burton could be chosen to host Jeopardy. Sony did not pick him as host. LeVar Burton has since partnered with eOne to develop and host a new Trivial Pursuit game show. Michael Davies has been the interim showrunner and is the executive producer of the long-running television game show Jeopardy. The beloved late host Alex Trebek hosted the show for 37 seasons. He passed away by Jeopardy Season 38, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
The controversy has plateaued surrounding Mike Richards. Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings will host through 2022. Fans will have to stay tuned to see who Sony Pictures Television will choose as the permanent host.
