It’s safe to say that Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman’s death was sudden, unexpected and heartbreaking.

At the very least it is this to us, the general public, who were unaware of the actor’s colon cancer. His family revealed the tragic news only recently on his Twitter account.

In response to his death, many of Boseman’s fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe actors mourned for him via Twitter while sharing some heartfelt parting words.

Captain America himself, Chris Evans, reflected on his former castmate’s originality and curiosity, stating, “I’m absolutely devastated. This is beyond heartbreaking. Chadwick was special. A true original. He was a deeply committed and constantly curious artist. He had so much amazing work still left to create. I’m endlessly grateful for our friendship.”

And on that note, we leave you with this post, showing Chadwick Boseman’s strength and generosity:

This was just two years ago.

He knew he had cancer then.

He was fighting just like these kids, and he made time for them. Made time to make them smile.

Just two years…

The world lost a king and a hero today. But he won’t be forgotten, not by us, and not by those kids. pic.twitter.com/s27dS2YODC
