The 19th season of the ABC reality show The Bachelorette ended with a dramatic engagement and a split, but it also opened a new chapter for Zach Shallcross on The Bachelor. Following the conclusion of Rachel and Gabby Windey’s season, ABC announced the former Bachelorette contestant as the next Bachelor come 2023.

During the three-hour-long finale of the reality show, which aired on Tuesday, Zach, who exited The Bachelorette last week as Rachel’s second runner-up looked ready to step into his next role despite his most-recent heartbreak. Speaking to host Jesse palmer, the 26-year-old admitted to feeling broken-hearted after the Bachelorette co-lead sent him off in favor of Tino Franco and Aven Jones.

Following the experience, he took some time off to heal and reflect on his next phase. Thankfully, snagging a chance to rebound on The Bachelor offered Zach Shallcross an avenue to do just that, and perhaps, find someone he truly considered the one. He shared:

Prior to his unveiling as the next bachelor, speculations about Zach Shallcross being The Bachelor frontrunner made the rounds, with most viewers kicking against the idea. However, his run on The Bachelorette was indeed an eventful one, even making it to Rachel’s top-three pick. Aside from his stint on the ABC reality series, what else is known about Zach?

Zach Shallcross is a 26-year-old tech executive from Anaheim Hills, California. Interestingly, he is the nephew of seasoned comedian Patrick Warburton, best known for portraying Puddy on “Seinfeld.” The reality star grew up in California with his mom, Megan, dad Chapman and two younger sisters Payton and Sammy.  His large family also comprises two aunts Mary and Lana.

Following his graduation from Servite High school, the TV personality attended California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He graduated with a degree in business administration and proceeded to pursue a career as a tech executive with the software company Oracle, located in Texas.

From the looks of it, Zach Shallcross is confident to reach even further in his career, exploring the world of reality TV on The Bachelor Nation. Although his stint on The Bachelorette appeared to have a disappointing ending at first, it all worked in his favor, becoming a blessing in disguise as he looks forward to another chance at love on season 27 of The Bachelor.
