Time to dust off those jumping and shooting skills.

At long last, the Mega Man series has finally returned with Mega Man 11. After taking an extended vacation to clear his thoughts and re-center himself, Dr. Wily is once again out to prove his genius to the world. And, once again, his plan involves sending eight robot masters to take over several very specific areas and wait there until Mega Man shows up. For a man smart enough to constantly build powerful robots, Dr. Wily isn’t very bright is he?

In this successful evolution of the Mega Man formula, Mega Man platforms and shoots his way through each stage as he’s always done, but this time he has a new piece of equipment called the “Double Gear System.” With this, he can either double the power of his mega buster or slow down time if. He’ll definitely need it too, the enemies and obstacles lying ahead of him aren’t easily overpowered.

The stages and robot masters can be tackled in any order, though smart players will soon notice which abilities are most effective against each boss. Once these weaknesses are identified, players can take that knowledge and compete for the fastest times and highest scores on Mega Man 11’s online leader boards. For those uninterested in fighting bosses over and over again, the game also offers special challenges like firing the fewest jumps and minimizing mega buster fire. The Blue Bomber is back, and he’s better than ever!

Mega Man 11 is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
