Mega Man made his triumphant return in the recent Super Smash Bros. for both Wii U and 3DS, but he has been around for quite a long time, 27 years in fact. To celebrate this milestone, Capcom and Nintendo have teamed up for a special Blue Bomber sale across their Virtual Console offerings on Wii U and 3DS, which also includes the early release of a new game to the service.
Through midnight eastern time on December 22, three Mega Man games will be on sale on each of the Wii U and 3DS at 50% off the regular price. These games include:
- Mega Man 5 for NES (Wii U) – $2.49
- Mega Man 6 for NES (Wii U) – $2.49
- Mega Man 7 for SNES (Wii U) – $3.99
- Mega Man II for Game Boy (3DS) – $1.49
- Mega Man III for Game Boy (3DS) – $1.49
- Mega Man IV for Game Boy (3DS) – $1.49
In addition to this sale, there has been a new addition to the Wii U Virtual Console in the form of Mega Man Zero for Game Boy Advance. Being completely new to the eShop, this one is not on sale at all, but can be gotten for $7.99 anyways. It is good to see the Blue Bomber get the promotion he deserves, and don’t forget to pick up Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS to try him out in newer games as well.
