Capcom has officially announced that a Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, based on the classic games of the same series, will be coming to Nintendo Switch later this year. The collection will follow in the footsteps of previous Mega Man collections, such as the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection, also on the Switch. While a release date was not given, the collection is expected to release sometime in 2023.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Release Date and Trailer

Capcom confirmed revealed the all-new Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection during the June 28th, 2022, Nintendo Direct Mini presentation. The collection will re-release 10 classic titles from the series.

The story follows the adventures of Lan Hikari, a boy who lives in a future where everyone possesses a computer program partner known as a “NetNavi.” MegaMan.EXE is Battle NetNavi Mega Man, and Lan is his operator, and both work together to stop the plans of the evil WWW (World Three) Organization.

The collection will also include a gallery with over a thousand illustrations and a music mode featuring a library of the game’s songs and will be split digitally as Legacy Collection Vol. 1 and Vol. 2.

The Mega Man Battle Network series first began in 2001 with the release of the original Mega Man Battle Network for the Game Boy Advance. The series combined strategy and card-builder elements and saw players take control of Mega Man.exe on a 3×6 grid, utilizing Battle Chips with differing abilities to defeat enemies. The last game came out in 2006.

The collection will release sometime in 2023 for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC.
