Megan Statler in HBO Max Comedy About Faith and Sexuality

Comedy has played a significant role in the actress’ career. Megan Statler broke out with the HBO Max series Hacks. It followed Debra Vance, played by Jean Smart, a Joan Rivers type of comedian who hires a writer, Ava, played by Hannah Einbinder, who also broke out with the series. Statler played Kayla, a cheery and often inappropriate assistant with no boundaries for Debra’s agent Jimmy, played by co-creator of Hacks Paul W. Downs. The show became a huge hit as it won three Emmys and has been greenlit for a third season.

Before HBO Max, Megan Statler had her show, The Megan Statler Show. After 13 episodes, she hopped over to Stephen Colbert Presents Tooning Out The News, where she did over 30 episodes before coming to Hacks. She also appeared in some episodes of Queer Folk.

She has another comedic project with Cora Bora, where she will be joined by Manny Jacinto (Top Gun: Maverick), Ayden Mayeri (The Afterparty), Heather Morris (Glee), Thomas Mann (Lady and the Tramp), Chrissie Fit (I Know What You Did Last Summer), and Jojo T. Gibbs (Fresh). Comedy is not the only thing for the actress. She will star in the drama Sometimes I Think About Dying with Daisy Ridley (Star Wars), Dave Merheje (Ramy), and Brittany O’Grady (The White Lotus).
