Metal Gear Online, the online multiplayer portion of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, is now officially live and out of beta. The mode has already been available on consoles for a little while, but many have been anticipating this release as the definitive version of the game. However, the beta that ran last week hit a bit of a snag as an exploit was found that resulted in the pulling of the game. That exploit was quickly resolved though, and now the game is out of beta and into its final release state.

“The Beta has officially concluded and the game is now available for launch,” reads the announcement. “We took in a lot of feedback and made a few key adjustments. After some initial hiccups we’re going forward guns at the ready. However that doesn’t mean we’ve stopped development, quite the contrary. Just like the previously released console versions of MGO, we’ll be integrating new updates to the game to improve the experience and add content.”

The team really wants Metal Gear Solid players to try out the new multiplayer mode, so they’ve promised some bonuses for those that play in the next week. “Check out the game and jump into minimum one (1) match between 1/19-1/26 and we’ll reward you with a bonus 3000 GEAR POINTS (GP) to help you customize your brand new characters’ gear style.”

Metal Gear Online will receive future updates, as well as DLC. Whether these things are paid or free will be announced at a later date, so keep checking for more info on Metal Gear Online.
