Metal Gear Online, the multiplayer aspect of the upcoming title from Konami, will not launch alongside Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on September 1st.  In an announcement from Konami that outlines release date plans for the highly anticipated title, they’ve revealed a few important release dates for the game, which include the release timing for Metal Gear Online and a bump up for the PC version.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will release for all platforms, including PC, will launch on the same date.  That means all platforms will see a September 1st release.

Unfortunately, Metal Gear Online won’t go live for console players until October 6th.  The announcement also reveals that the PC version of Metal Gear Online won’t be released until January 2016.  Reasoning behind the delay on Metal Gear Online is “a result of the updated timing.”

Earlier today, it was revealed by Nikkei that there’s been trouble brewing at Konami for quite some time, specifically with delays of The Phantom Pain.

The delay of Metal Gear Online will give Metal Gear Solid V players some much needed time to play through what is being described as a massive game, the announcement from Konami claims that it is 200x the size of the Ground Zeroes prologue.
