UPDATE: The game is now listed on Steam, so that’s pretty firm confirmation.

Konami’s UK website has leaked that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes will be released on PC via Steam. Both games were previously only announced for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4, with Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes having been released earlier this year. Currently the news story is displayed on the front page of Konami UK’s website (UPDATE: The listing has been removed now), but the link is broken indicating that this information was not supposed to come out just yet.

This will be the first time that the Metal Gear Solid series has been released on Steam, with previous titles either being spinoffs or being released on PC outside of Valve’s service. The original Metal Gear Solid and its sequel Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty both made their way to PC without Steam. Spinoff Metal Gear Rising Revengeance was the first in the entire series to make it to Steam.

With the link to the actual news story broken at this time we don’t have much more information, such as a possible release date for both titles. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is already available on consoles, having released in March, so it might come out on Steam earlier than the still upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. It is also possible that Konami will want to bundle the two titles together, as Ground Zeroes serves as a sort of prequel to The Phantom Pain.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is set to release on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4 in early 2015. Keep checking here for updates on the Steam release as it become available.
