Devolver Digital has finally teased further information about the release of Metal Wolf Chaos XD after a great deal of waiting, and the timing could not be better. After their recent showcase at E3 2019, where no information was revealed on the highly anticipated remake, Devolver promised that they would provide public information regarding the game’s release after the show was over. Apparently, the time has come, because the release date has been planned to be revealed sometime this week. The timing is especially opportune, as the 4th of July (American Independence Day) is happening this week, and would be the perfect time to learn more about the title given the subject matter of the game.

Metal Wolf Chaos XD is the HD remastering of a previously Japan-exclusive game for the original Xbox, developed by FromSoftware, creators of the Armored Core and Dark Souls series. The game focuses on the fictional president of the United States Michael Wilson, who must stop the corrupt Vice president from usurping him from office and taking over the country. To do this he takes control of a heavily-armed bipedal mech titled Metal Wolf in order to fight off the maniacal forces of the oval office.

The reveal of Metal Wolf Chaos receiving a remaster was the major focal point of actual releases showcased at Devolver Digital’s press conference in 2018, with very little information provided since. A great deal of excitement has been generated by the prospect of being able to play this previously inaccessible gem of a comedy game complete with giant explosions and fighting robots. Hopefully, Devolver will provide the public with a swift release date, so that people don’t have to wait much longer to make the evil forces of the Vice President suck on their missile punch.
