Getting more crowded by the day, the first person shooter genre is a tough nut to crack.  Last year’s shooter Metro 2033 was great experience, but in the midst of so many great titles in the same genre, the compelling narrative may not have been enough to propel the title into elite status.  Metro 2034 is coming, and with it a focus by THQ to compete with the Call of Duty’s of the world.

” The sequel’s even more advanced in terms of the technology.  The sequel’s going to get a lot more support that the first one got both from product development at THQ and marketing.”  There were certain things in Metro 2033, eventhough it looked sensational, some of the shooting mechanics needed to be better polished to compete with the Call of Duty’s.  They are this time.  For marketing it’ll get a much more respectful push.”

Metro 2034 is not scheduled to launch until 2012.
