4A Games released two gems over the past console generation in Metro 233 and Metro: Last Light. Now, both games are coming to next-gen platforms with Metro Redux. Each game has been revamped with improved graphics, and 2033 will see a more radical change due to it running on Last Light’s engine. Both games will see numerous changes on the Xbox One and PS4.

Lighting will be completely reworked and it will be better-optimized for lower-end PCs.  2033 will get day and night cycles added to it, and parts of the game have been expanded in this re-release. Last Light will allow people to check their watch and inventory, making it an easier experience for some. Those who seek a greater challenge will be glad that the HUD-less Ranger mode will be available for both games as a standard option – and not as paid DLC like it was in Last Light.

Each game launches this summer on PS4, Xbox One, and PC for $25 each and they’ll be bundled on-disc at $50. After those versions are released, Redux will hit Linux, Mac, and SteamOS platforms. If you missed either game over the last console generation, and didn’t get 2033 during one of its super-cheap bundle appearances, this is a great way to experience the games. Even if you did get it then, you’ll want to re-buy it in Redux form down the line to experience the game in its best overall presentation to date.
