Small gameplay fixes

Update 1.0.1 has arrived for Metroid Dread, and here’s the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch.

Nintendo and Mercury Steam have now released its first post-launch patch for Metroid Dread. While the game is mostly playable without glitches, there was an annoying issue that caused the game to crash. It looks like these issues have now been fixed with this new patch out today.

If you are playing the game on the Nintendo Switch, the file size is only 164 MB. You can read the full patch notes for today’s update posted down below via MakoReactor.

General Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where, if a map marker is placed on a specific door on the map screen (the door destroyed with the beam obtained at the end of the game), destroying that door at the end of the game would cause the game to forcefully quit with the message “The software was closed because an error occurred”.
  • Fixed several other issues to improve overall gameplay experience.

We’ll be sure to update this post if future patch notes are announced for the game. You can head on over to the official website for more info. Metroid Dread is out now and is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch console.
