Just as in the previous game’s in the Metroid series, players will need to find new items and equipment to traverse the dangerous world of Planet ZDR. The first new weapon that you will find is the Charge Beam, and it is one of the most critical pieces of equipment that you get. This guide will show you where to find the Charge Beam in Metroid Dread.

Where to Find the Charge Beam in Metroid Dread

To find the Charge Beam, you will want to make your way through the Artaria zone. You will want to get to the lowest level on the map and head all the way to the left. You will come across an area with two drained yellow doors. As much as you try, you will not be able to open these doors; in fact, you actually need the Charge Beam to get these two doors as well as any door like them open throughout the rest of the game. The Charge Beam is also behind the door on the left. Luckily, the left door has a little gap under the left door that you are able to slide under.  When you slide under the door, you will find yourself in a room with a Chozo Statue hold an orb. Shoot it and jump into the item, which will reward you with the Charge Beam.

Metroid Dread: How Long to Beat

Once you have the Charge Beam, you will be able to open drained yellow doors by holding down the fire button. Once the energy is charged, you will be able to shoot the doors to open them. It can also do a ton of damage, so make sure your figure out the best way the weapon works for you.

Metroid Dread is available now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
