After the Fatalis update, another minor title update version 15.10 for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will be released on December 3. Turns out, it won’t just add permanent event quests and Safi’Jiiva solo balancing to the game, but also the MHW: Iceborne movie special collaboration quest as well. Not really that surprising since I know a crossover event to promote the “worrying movie” is inevitable.

Similar to The Witcher crossover quest, you can only play through them alone and will be using a special character for the duration of the MHW: Iceborne movie quests. You will play as Artemis, Milla’s character from the movie, with special voice lines voiced directly by Milla while all other characters will default to using the Monster Hunter Language. A cute idea of keeping up with the movie theme of being stranded on a mysterious fantasy island. You can watch the in-game Artemis hacking-and-slashing with Dual Blades in the collaboration trailer below.

Both MHW: Iceborne movie event quests will be available for one whole year, from December 3, 2020, to December 2, 2021. Logging in on November 27 or during these periods will grant you bonus login items: Ancient Potion x30, Dust of Life x30, Golden Egg x10, True Armor Sphere x3, and Earplug Jewel+4.

MHW: Iceborne Movie Event Quest: ‘The New World’

  • Conditions: Master Rank 1 or above, single-player only.
  • Locale: Wildspire Waste.
  • Objective: Slay a Black Diablos.

Completing this quest will grant you the movie-inspired Artemis α+ Armor Set. Interestingly, unlike the Geralt or Ciri set, the armor won’t cover your character’s head. On one hand, you can say goodbye to the idea of annoying random lobbies as Milla. On the other hand, I guess this set will let our characters cosplay as her movie character…?

Event Quest: ‘To Our World’

  • Conditions: Master rank 1 or above, single-player only.
  • Locale: Ancient Forest.
  • Objective: Slay a Rathalos.

After you have completed the ‘The New World’ quest, then you can play this one. In the second event quest chain, you will have to fight a gigantic Rathalos. Hopefully, the previous quest also gives you Gold Crown Black Diablos. I have never found one somehow. Finishing this quest will grant you the Artemis Layered Armor Set. And judging from the trailer we will be able to craft another new Dual Blades. Can’t Capcom give some love to Switch Axe, Gunlance, or Hunting Horn for once?
