Monster Hunter World: Iceborne new layered armor quests have come, along with the summer festival event. Summer Festival or Sizzling Spice Fest runs from July 21 until August 6 for consoles and PC. This event gives out VIP Tickets and five brand new quests that let you craft new layered armor or weapon as well. Let’s check out what are the layered armors and how to get them below.

Passion Layered Armor

First of all, the Passion layered armor — or this season’s exclusive armor. While you can easily craft the normal armor set using the regular Sizzling Spice Ticket, VIP Tickets for the layered armor version could sometimes be hard to get. Luckily we have a guide to quickly farm them in just 30 to 40 seconds! I hope that guide will help you out with collecting VIP Sizzling Spice Tickets.

Iceborne Armor: Camoflawed

  • Quest Reward: Herbivore Ticket II
  • Quest Requirements: Hunt an MR Rathian in Ancient Forest

You can use three Herbivore Ticket II to craft the Faux Aptonoth layered armor. The Rathian will always spawn in Area 11 so to make the quest go faster simply drop in from Camp 11 or Northeast Camp.

Don’t Forget The Earplug!

  • Quest Reward: Pilot Hare Ticket
  • Quest Requirements: Hunt a Yian-Garuga in the Arena

This quest gives you a guaranteed small crown Yian-Garuga and you will need three tickets to craft the layered armor. There’s not much strategy here aside from bringing Antidote or Herbal Medicine since it can afflict poison. Its (extremely) small body might give you trouble if you’re trying to wall bang it, so I suggest you not to rely too much on it. Eating for Elemental Resistance L to get +20 Fire Resistance also helps you avoiding Fire Blight. And lastly, don’t forget Earplug 5!

Fetching Light Pearls

  • Quest Reward: Herbivore Ticket I
  • Quest Requirements: Collect eight Light Pearls in Coral Highlands

You will need three Herbivore Ticket I to craft the Faux Kelbi layered armor. You can gather Light Pearls from Pearl Oysters and they are mostly located on the east or right side of the map. Head out to Area 14 or Area 7 to find them.

Monkey Business

  • Quest Reward: Goldspring Ticket
  • Quest Requirements: Hunt Furious Rajang in Hoarfrost Reach

Might be the hardest quest out of all the new Summer Festival quests. Three Goldspring Tickets will let you craft the cutest of all Iceborne new layered armor, Goldspring Macaque. This time around, Rajang will always spawn in the hot spring in Area 13, so dropping in from Camp 7 or 15 is advisable. And when it’s limping away, it will always go to sleep in Area 2’s hot spring.

Bring a stock of Hot Drink and buff yourself with Armorskin and Demondrug before the fight. Knowing when and where to dodge after every attack is the key to defeating this Cranky Kong. Or just fire SOS and hope at least one good Bowgun user will carry you through this ordeal.

The Naked Truth of Iceborne

  • Quest Reward: Inner Eye Ticket
  • Quest Requirements: Slay Shara Ishvalda in Origin Isle

You are going to need three Inner Eye Tickets to craft each one of the Innerwear Alpha and Beta layered armor set. If you have trouble running away from the sand-softening attacks, slot in Mirewalker decoration to let you move normally in it. It seems this quest gives out bonus Shara Tenderplate — the rarest material in Iceborne‘s launch version —  drops since I keep getting one each run, but this is completely anecdotal evidence. Don’t take my words for it!

Seeing is Believing in Iceborne

  • Quest Reward: Spirited Canteen Ticket
  • Quest Requirements: Hunt Tigrex in the Arena

Similar to ‘Don’t Forget The Earplug!’ quest, this one gives you a guaranteed giant crown Tigrex. While it’s not the hardest fight in this batch of new quests, more so than the normal version, this gigantic Tigrex is extremely annoying to fight. No joke. Break its forelegs and cut its tail as soon as possible; you can trip it by breaking the forelegs and a shorter tail means a shorter spin attack radius as well. Wall banging it is also easy considering its body pretty much takes half of the Arena already.

Finishing ‘Seeing is Believing’ nets you Spirited Canteen Ticket which you can use to craft Strong Ale Dual Blade or the layered weapon version. This Dual Blade is pretty fun since it can induce both Paralyze and Sleep with two level-four decoration slots. Plus styling on monsters with three full beer mugs on each hand won’t get boring anytime soon.
