Well, the day we had all been waiting for with bated breath is finally here. At its Smarter Living 2020 event in Bengaluru, Xiaomi today launched the Mi Band 4 in India. The new fitness tracker from Xiaomi brings a number of firsts including a colored AMOLED display, music controls, and of course, improved activity tracking.
We know everything about the new Mi Band 4 (which is advertised as Mi Smart Band 4 in India) as it was first unveiled in China back in June earlier this year. It carries forward the same design and aesthetics as its predecessor but embraces the much-requested change – a color display. Mi Band 4 includes a color 0.95-inch AMOLED touchscreen with scratch-resistant 2.5D glass protection on top. There’s also a 135mAh battery in tow that Xiaomi claims offers up to 20 days of battery back up.
As Rupesh previously pointed, the global variant of the Mi Band 4 didn’t come with an AI assistant (Xiao AI used in China) and NFC support. And well, that holds true for India too. We would have loved to see voice assistant support on Xiaomi’s fitness tracker, but alas it isn’t a reality this time around. There are pogo pins for charging at the bottom now but a magnetic charger isn’t what you get.
