Jaafar Jackson has been cast to play Michael Jackson in the upcoming biopic. Lionsgate is producing a biopic about Michael Jackson. Antoine Fuqua is directing it and is known for his films Training Day, Emancipation, and Olympus Has Fallen. Jaafar Jackson is the son of Jermaine Jackson, a former member of The Jackson 5. Just like his uncle, Jaafar started singing and dancing at a young age. He may be a singer and dancer but acting is an all-new frontier for the young performer. John Logan is writing the script for Michael. The producer of Bohemian Rhapsody Graham King will also produce it. GK Films are producing it along with Jackson’s estate, John Branca, and John McClain. The film will address many parts of his career, but it’s unknown if it will touch on the controversies of his personal life.

All Eyes Will Be on Jaafar Jackson for His Portrayal of His Late Uncle

Jaafar Jackson started singing and dancing at 12 years old. The Lionsgate biopic Michael is very close to home to Jaafar. This film could be very critical of his family members, including his grandfather Joe Jackson. The young performer is just starting off his career, and his role in the film could make or break him. Jaafar Jackson only released his debut single “Got Me Singing” in 2019. Graham King was deeply impressed with how he thinks Jaafar “personifies the spirit and personality of Michael.” Both Fuqua and King seem hopeful of bringing the late King of Pop back to life for the film. There is no doubt about the impact of Michael Jackson’s work in the music industry, but the darker parts of his life are hard to overlook. The film will have to paint a fine line between his music and his inappropriate behavior behind closed doors.

The biopic Michael will start principal photography in 2023.
