Microsoft has officially announced today the newest game in the Forza series with Forza Motorsport 6.
Forza Motorsport 6 will have the all new Ford GT supercar on the cover. The game will be launched exclusively for the Xbox One. The Ford GT car itself was only recently revealed at the North American International Auto Show.
Microsoft has not announced a release date for Forza Motorsport 6 yet, but chances are it will be out by the end of the year. This Forza installment will once again be developed by Turn 10, and apparently playable at this year’s E3 event in June.
Some other cars confirmed for Forza Motorsport 6 include the GT, Shelby GT350 Mustang and F-150 Raptor. Microsoft and Turn 10 struck a deal with Ford to market their new cars to a younger generation.
Ford feels video games are a great marketing tool to encourage young people to interested in cars or even racing. They felt Forza Motorsport 6 was a great platform to showcase their new cars.
The announcement of Forza Motorsport 6 confirms Microsoft’s plans to keep the Forza franchise a somewhat annual series. 2013 saw the release of Forza Motorsport 5, while 2014 had the release of Forza Horizon 2. 2015 is likely to be the year this game comes out.
