Earlier this year, Microsoft released its Chromium-based Edge web browser on Windows and macOS. Microsoft Edge is currently available on Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, macOS, iOS, and Android. As promised, the revamped Chromium Edge is finally making its way to Linux, starting in October.

At Ignite 2020, Microsoft also announced that WebView2 and the Visual Studio Code 1.0 extension are exiting preview. Both WebView2 and the Visual Studio Code 1.0 extension will be available in the coming months. In case you’re out of the loop, WebView 2, which is decoupled from specific versions of Windows, uses Chromium Edge as the rendering engine and offers full web experience across Windows native apps.
