Microsoft is undergoing a major change in company organization.  The Entertainment Division that has housed the Xbox One brand within Microsoft is being gutted to create a “Devices and Studios Engineering Group”.  This new division within Microsoft will be lead by Julie Larson-Green.

Larson-Green had previously been in charge of Windows products at Microsoft.  The executive will be responsible for all games, music, video, and entertainment products coming out of the company.

Steve Ballmer addressed Microsoft employees with a memo which announced the strategic changes.  Ballmer says that “Going forward, our strategy will focus on creating a family of devices and services for individuals and business that empower people around the globe at home, at work, and on the go, for the activities they value most.”

You can read the full memo if you would like to hear more detail about the Microsoft “One” strategy.
