Xbox fans might have to deflate their hopes going into The Game Awards this weekend as Microsoft has just made a statement regarding Xbox related announcements at the event.

Out of the ‘over 12’ world premiere announcements, not one of them will be Microsoft or Xbox related according to Aaron Greenberg, head of 1st and 3rd party games at Microsoft. This information was divulged via his Twitter account as he was getting asked quite a bit if fans could expect something from the company. He responded with the following:

“Since many have asked we are not planning any new game announcements @thegameawards. Looking forward to watching a great show however”

This has led many to believe that Microsoft could simply be saving their announcements for E3 next year or possibly another event like the PlayStation Experience which is also set to take place this weekend. It could all be a ploy though to announce a megaton announcement. That is also a possibility but seems far fetched.

Find out what announcements will be revealed this Friday during The Game Awards and right here as we will have up to the minute coverage of the event.
