At this year’s E3 Microsoft has announced some changes to their Xbox Live Gold subscription. You’d be able to get a couple of free games up until the end of this year. The first two titles they announced were Assassin’s Creed II and Halo 3. Every two weeks they’d announce another new title which will be available for download and remain yours indefinitely.

From now until the 15th of July you’ll be able to acquire Defense Grid: The Awakening.

The game was released back in 2009 on Xbox Live Arcade and will be available to download until July 15. A day later you’ll be able to download another game, but this title is yet to be announced.

This system is quite similar to Sony’s Playstation Plus. The question remains if Microsoft will continue this type of subscription for the Xbox One.
