Good news from Microsoft’s Q4 and fiscal year 2018 financials, as the platform holder has reported a 39% growth in gaming revenues, with more profits coming from the Xbox division and third party support.

In particular, gaming revenues have increased $643 million, and specifically Xbox software and services revenue increased 36%. As reported by VG247.com, that’s mainly because of the third party titles.

Xbox Live also witnessed a period of growth, thanks to the increase in the number of monthly active users. MAUs have indeed gone +8% compared with year-end 2016 (49 million), reaching the whopping amount of 57 million users across Windows 10, Xbox consoles and mobile devices.

The More Personal Computing segment, where the Xbox division belongs, has witnessed a 17% increase in revenue on a year-over-year basis to $10.8 billion.

Overall, as for the quarter, the company has reported $30.1 billion in revenue, up 17% yoy from $25.6 billion. During the entire fiscal year ending June 30, 2018, finally, revenue was $110.4 billion (+14% yoy), with net income at $16.6 billion.

It’s good to hear the company is healthy and that the Xbox division, despite going through a moment in its life where it’s not leading the market in terms of sales, is doing so well year after year. Is it a sign of great things to come?
