Just yesterday we have reported about a rumor of Microsoft looking into more studios to acquire in 2019, and now we apparently have more details on the topic.

The same insider of the original rumor, Klobrille, has shared a bit of information which is incredibly interesting considering it is involving Sony somehow.

According to Klobrille, indeed, Microsoft Studios is “in advanced talks” with a team that has “historically” worked on PlayStation.

“Let’s make this Monday a bit more interesting. I can say that Xbox is in advanced talks (a few months) with a mid-sized studio that historically worked together with PlayStation a bit,” he said.

“No name dropping because of ongoing negotiations for now, but it’s interesting nonetheless,” he added, hinting at plans which could change on the run.

So, Microsoft would be again targeting mid-sized studios, which is the core of its expansion at the moment and has been like this in the last six months.

The fact that this studio could’ve been close to PlayStation in the past would make for a good identikit for the likes of Ready at Dawn, Housemarque and perhaps even Bluepoint Games.

The insider has already denied it’s Insomniac Games, although the idea of an acquisition would be great for having them work on Sunset Overdrive 2.
