Spider-Man No Way Home is premiering around the globe and the film brought everyone to tears with its dramatic ending. This movie will mark the end of the current Spider-Man trilogy in the MCU and a start for another. In this article, I will explain why Miles Morales is the next Spider-Man in Spider-Man 4.

The first trilogy of MCU’s Spider-Man is wrapped up by the premier of Spider-Man No Way Home. It won’t be the end of Spider-Man for Marvel Cinematic Universe but the question is what will happen to the future of Spider-Man. I will predict what will happen in the next few years and how it will be all influenced by Insomniac‘s Spider-Man video games.
Before the premiere of No Way Home, Tom Holland mentioned if he was still Spider-Man after the age of 30, he was doing something wrong. In the next 24 hours, the producer of MCU’s Spider-Man films said Holland will stay as Spider-Man for another trilogy. So there is this duality between Holland and MCU on whether he will play Spider-Man again or not.
Tom Holland will stay as MCU’s Spider-Man but he won’t be the main Spider-Man in Spider-Man 4. In No Way Home, there is a fight scene in which Electro is cured by Spider-Man. This leads to a small talk in which Electro, played by Jamie Foxx tells the Spider-Man there might be a black Spider-Man somewhere in another universe. This is definitely a reference to the new popular Spider-Man, Miles Morales.
In a recent interview, Holland mentions he wants to take a break from acting and maybe start a family. There are still two films in which Holland will star, Uncharted and Untitled Fred Astaire Biopic, but after that, he will stop acting for a while. This gap will make Holland a little bit old to play a teenager Spider-Man. And this is the part of how MCU will follow the path Insomniac Games have already gone through.
Miles Morales, MCU’s Next Spider-Man
Insomniac Games made the best Spider-Man video games. Insomniac Peter Parker is an experienced Spider-Man, not a teenager who still learns how to control his abilities. But they also introduced the player to Miles Morales in small scenes. Miles Morales became popular after the release of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse animation that has its own similarities with No Way Home.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a spin-off of Marvel’s Spider-Man series in which the player will take control of Morales instead of Parker. In the game, Parker goes out of the city with MJ and leaves the city in the hands of his apprentice, Miles. This duo will return for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in which they will fight Venom.
Since Holland won’t be acting for a while and Kevin Feige has already confirmed that Spider-Man 4 is in its early development stages, the gap between No Way Home and the Spider-Man 4 will be huge. The Spider-Man that we will see in the next MCU film won’t be a teenager, but an adult who has been Spider-Man for many years.
This is exactly how Insomniac’s Spider-Man game starts. Not to mention that No Way Home‘s actions were influenced by Marvel’s Spider-Man. So the next Spider-Man trilogy will introduce Miles Morales and show his character growth and Tom Holland will return as a mature Spider-Man that will teach Miles how to be a Spider-Man. This might even lead to a Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse live-action film in which all the multiverse Spider-Men including some new ones will appear.
