American actress Mindy Kaling addressed the rumors about her co-star and friend, B.J Novak fathering her children. There have been speculations that the mother of two shares her kids with Novak, her one-time lover. But she cleared the air in a recent interview with Marie Claire. Kaling admits to not being bothered about the rumor as she revealed more in the chat with Claire.
Is B.J. Novak The Father Of Mindy Kaling’s Children?
Fans weren’t wrong in assuming that B.J Novak is the father of Mindy Kaling’s children due to the history of the duo. Before Mindy Kaling addressed the paternity rumor involving Novak, they had a ‘thing’. Novak and Kaling were in an off-and-on relationship during the production of The Office. However, Kaling, for the first time, cleared the air about the rumors concerning Novak being the father of her children.
The 1979-born actress admitted that the circulated information about B.J Novak fathering her children didn’t bother her. But she clearly stated that Novak is the God-father to her children, not the biological one. The actress and comedian also said she doesn’t mind if the news is titillating to people as it doesn’t bother her. The smooth relationship between Novak and Kaling’s children served as fuel to the flame of the “false” rumors.
If The Father Isn’t B.J. Novak, Who Is?
Although this isn’t the first time that Mindy Kaling has addressed the paternity of her children, however, she has chosen not to reveal the father of her kids, Katherine and Spencer. Sometime in 2019, New York Times asked Kaling why she had chosen to conceal the identity of Katherine’s father.
The actress replied that she had to first speak to her daughter about it before anyone else. However, due to the longtime friendship between Mindy Kaling and B.J Novak, people really thought that he had fathered her children.
Novak and Kaling first met on the set of NBC’s The Office comic series. The duo was in an unstable relationship for three years before calling it quits in 2017. Irrespective of the split, Kaling, and Novak have remained friends until now. They have also been spotted on a couple of red carpet events together as platonic dates.
