One resource Minecraft adventurers in 1.19 might search for during their journey in survival mode is Raw Copper, an unrefined metal mined from Copper Ore, Deepslate Copper Ore, and Blocks of Raw Copper. Raw Copper can be used for crafting Blocks of Copper or smelted into Copper Ingots, a material used for making the Lightning Rod and the Spyglass. The Lightning Rod is a perfect structural instrument for preventing Villagers from being struck by lightning, and the Spyglass is an excellent tool for immersive exploration. As for Blocks of Copper, these blocks can oxidize, a feature that players might find practical in designing architecture. Continue reading to learn where to find Copper Ore in Minecraft 1.19.

Finding Copper Ore In Minecraft 1.19

Copper Ore is a common resource, meaning it shouldn’t be long before adventurous miners encounter veins of this metal. That being said, Minecraft fans can find Copper Ore in version 1.19 between levels Y:112 and Y:-16. As one might expect, the ore that generates below Y:0 will be Deepslate Copper Ore, which still yields Raw Copper.

According to YouTube content creator Eyecraftmc, the best elevations to find Copper Ore in Minecraft 1.19 are Y:48 and Y:47. Furthermore, this resource is much more likely to appear within the Beach biomes of the Overworld, including regular sandy Beaches, Stony Shores, and Snowy Beaches. These are also the only biomes where Blocks of Raw Copper will naturally generate. Typically, Blocks of Raw Copper begin appearing at Y:0. Excluding the rare Raw Copper blocks, the Copper Ore variants can be recognized by Stone or Deepslate blocks speckled with reddish-brown and turquoise chunks of metal.

When mining Copper Ore in Minecraft 1.19, a single node will yield 2 to 5 chunks of Raw Copper. However, if the pickaxe used is Enchanted with Fortune, there’s a chance it will drop even more. For instance, Fortune III can potentially harvest 20 pieces of Raw Copper from a single block. As mentioned above, Raw Copper can be smelted into Copper Ingots for multiple crafting recipes or crafted directly into a Block of Raw Copper. This can be done by filling the entire 3×3 crafting grid with Raw Copper to produce a single metal block. These blocks can be used in a Stonecutter to create various decorative blocks for construction.

Minecraft is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox One X|S, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS.
