Minecraft Bedrock edition could possibly be coming to Playstation 4 this Tuesday. Leaks on Twitter show screenshots of Best Buy’s online store selling the PS4 edition of the “Minecraft Starter Collection” as well as images of physical copies of the game in stores.

The first leak came from Twitter user @ITZZ_AgentH14, who posted a screenshot of the game on Best Buy’s online store accompanied by a link to the page. The games page on Best Buy was taken down shortly after the images surfaced.

Fans of the game began to doubt the validity of the leak without being able to see the page for themselves. That is when another Twitter user by the name of @gamingguidesde posted an image of a physical copy he had found in stores.

While PS4 players do have Minecraft available to play at the moment, they do not have the Bedrock edition of Minecraft. Minecraft Bedrock edition allows players to play cross-platform with any other platform that also has the Bedrock Edition.

PS4 will be late to the game, seeing as almost all modern platforms have Minecraft Bedrock Edition readily available. The introduction of Bedrock to the PS4 will allow PlayStation players to play with PC, Xbox, Switch, and mobile players. It will also enable PlayStation players to enjoy newer updates of the game.

If these leaks are valid, PS4 players can expect the launch of Minecraft Bedrock Edition on Tuesday, December 10, 2019. Bedrock will sell for $29.99 retail, and it is unknown at this point if PS4 players who own a copy of the current version of Minecraft for the PS4 will be able to redeem a copy of Bedrock for free. This is something that Mojang has done in the past for Switch players who had purchased the Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft before the release of Bedrock on the Switch.
