Minecraft is getting a big dose of holiday cheer with the release of the Festive Mash-Up Pack, which will hit Xbox 360 and Xbox One on December 10th. The DLC will add a bunch of items and textures to the game, all themed around winter and the various holidays that are celebrated at this time. The pack will cost $2.99 and is currently exclusive to Xbox consoles, although the announcement says it will be available “soon on other platforms.” The contents of the pack include: a holiday-themed texture pack, 36 brand-new skins, and new music by Minecraft composer C418.
This mash-up pack is a bit different from those in the past, which were all based around other games. These included Halo, Skyrim, and Mass Effect. Along with these Mojang and 4J Studios have released skin and texture packs, but the mash-ups always seemed reserved for larger releases like those above. Perhaps we’ll start seeing more varied releases for these mash-up packs in the future if this one does well.
The Festive Mash-Up Pack will be available on December 10th for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition and Minecraft: Xbox One Edition for a price of $2.99.
