Minecraft Dungeons has today launched update 1.12.1.0 on all platforms, so here’s the full list of changes and fixes with this patch. This is a very uneventful update, introducing just two patch notes to the game (with one being Steam-specific!). As such, you shouldn’t expect either the download size to be large or anything to be changed. With that being said, one of the notes involves achievements not unlocking, so those of you who enjoy achievement hunting out there can rest easy knowing that your achievements should unlock just fine now. Fixes

  • Fixed a crash that would occur after failing a Tower run (MCD-6893)
  • Fixed Season 1 achievements on Steam not unlocking after meeting the specified criteria (MCD-6915)

As said, both the notes from today are deeply unexciting and shouldn’t be taken as anything more than a quick cleanup update. With that being said, these fixes are for major issues that affect a lot of people. With the new Tower runs just introduced, failing those and proceeding to crash can be a beyond frustrating experience that warrants even quitting and doing something else instead. And again, achievement hunters will be incredibly happy to know those achievements are back to being unlockable as they should be. This is great news if a bit unexciting for those wanting new content.

Fixes

In its defense though, you shouldn’t be expecting new content right now anyways. The most recent update made three days ago, introduced the new Seasonal Adventures along with the new Tower mechanic, so you’re likely swimming in content right now anyways. It’s great to see the new Tower mechanic in fact, which for those unaware adds a bit of roguelike flavor to the otherwise linear experience. Your goal is to make your way up many floors, but if you die, it’s back down to the bottom for you. With plenty of gear to build yourself up with along the way, it should prove an enjoyable struggle towards success.
