Minecraft version 1.17 was released last month with the Caves & Cliffs update, bringing a biome overhaul to two areas of the overworld. With Minecraft’s popularity at an all-time high, players have a seemingly infinite number of things to do in the game alone or with friends. Some players may be wondering if they can craft armor and tools to a higher tier than Diamond. The answer is yes, and to do so players will need to craft a Smithing Table.

Minecraft: How to Craft a Smithing Table

Smithing Tables can be used to craft Netherite armor and tools. Netherite is the highest grade for armor and tools in Minecraft. Netherite blocks have been in the game for some time now and remain one of the game’s rarest materials. If players want a guide on how to craft Netherite Ingots for the Smithing Table in Minecraft, then check out our easy guide here.

Smithing tables can be found in villages across the overworld. It will be commonly found in a Tool Smith’s house. If players want to create their own Smithing Table block, then players will need to craft some basic materials in a specific order. Players will need 2 Iron Ingots and 4 Planks of wood of any kind. Players can also mix the kind of Wood Plank’s as any combination of the 4 will fulfill the recipe requirements. Place all the ingredients in the Crafting Table in this specific order.

Placing them in this fashion is REQUIRED, so make sure to do so and you will have yourself a brand new Smithing Table. Now that players have their Minecraft Smithing Table crafted, they can craft the most powerful tier of armor and tools in Survival mode.
