Minecraft version 1.17 was released last month with the Caves & Cliffs update, bringing a biome overhaul to two areas of the overworld. With Minecraft’s popularity at an all-time high, players have a seemingly infinite number of things to do in the game alone or with friends. Some players may be wondering if they can create waypoints for their compass across the world. The answer is yes, and to do so players will need to craft a Lodestone
Minecraft: How to Craft Lodestones
Lodestones can be used to create waypoints across the world, making a player’s compass point in the direction of a set lodestone. With the sheer size Minecraft worlds become as they procedurally generate, players will definitely want some helpful tracking devices like the Lodestone block. A common use is placing a Lodestone block next to a player’s home so they can easily make their way back after a long journey.
Lodestone blocks can be found in Bastion remnants across the overworld in bridge chests. However, if players want to create their own Lodestone, then they will need to craft some materials in a specific order. Players will need 8 Chiseled Stone Bricks and 1 Netherite Ingot. Nethrite is one of the rarest materials in Minecraft and vital for crafting a Lodestone Block. If players want a guide on how to craft Netherite Ingots for Lodestones in Minecraft, then check out our easy guide here.
Once players have all the required resources, then they must craft them in their crafting table, in this specific order.
Placing the resources in this fashion is REQUIRED, so make sure to do so and you will have yourself a brand new Lodestone. Now that players have their Minecraft Lodestone crafted, they can navigate the sheer massiveness of the world with no fear of losing their home.
