The blocky and infinite world of Minecraft is home to many secrets, but buried treasure may just be the most exciting of them all. Throughout your randomly generated Minecraft world, there are hidden treasure chests waiting to be discovered. They contain a ton of valuable resources and a unique resource called hearts of the sea, which are needed to craft conduits. Whether you’re in need of conduits for your next build or you’re just in the mood for plundering and piracy, here’s everything you need to know about buried treasure in Minecraft.
How to Find Treasure Maps in Minecraft
Before you can find buried treasure, you need to find a treasure map. This is what will allow you to track down the treasure in the first place, as it is otherwise nearly impossible to find the chests in a decent amount of time without one. To get a map, you’ll need to explore the ocean and find shipwrecks deep beneath the waves. More often than not, these shipwrecks will contain a chest that has a treasure map inside of it. Once you have the map in hand, you can start hunting for real treasure.
How to Find Buried Treasure in Minecraft
With the map in hand, right-click to open it up and reveal the location of the buried treasure. Once you reach the marked location, start digging. The buried treasure chest will often only be a few blocks beneath the spot where the X is on the map, so if you’ve dug rather deep and not yet found the chest it might be time to move over a few blocks and try again. Once you’ve found the correct spot, the chest will be yours along with all of the loot within it.
