The Fletching Table is a Job Site Block in Minecraft primarily used for turning an unemployed Villager into a Fletcher. For those unfamiliar, the Fletcher is an NPC vendor who does business with items related to archery. For instance, Arrows, the ammunition of Bows and Crossbows, are made of Flint, Sticks, and Feathers. Accordingly, if players are running low on these resources, they can visit their local Fletcher for easily accessible ready-for-use Arrows. Fletchers also sell Bows and Crossbows in Minecraft and have a chance to offer powerful Enchanted Bows and Crossbows after leveling up as a vendor. 

Crafting a Fletching Table in Minecraft

To make a Fletching Table in Minecraft, players will need four wooden Planks of any type and two pieces of Flint. Since any Wood will work, users can use Jungle, Birch, Oak, or Crimson Planks to craft the recipe. Wood is a relatively common resource found throughout the Overworld, but Flint is more challenging to procure.

To get Flint to craft a Fletching Table in Minecraft, players must search for Gravel, a block that can naturally appear in the Overworld and the Nether. While Gravel’s spawn points are randomized for every world, the block can usually be found near beaches, rivers, and small pools of water. Additionally, they can appear in sizeable clusters underground, such as in mine shafts, cave tunnels, or randomly amongst Cobblestone. Gravel can also appear by the shores of lava lakes in the Nether and parts of cold ocean ruins. Whatever the case, finding Gravel should not be too tricky if players often mine resources and explore their world. 

However, finding Gravel does not guarantee a Flint drop for one’s Fletching Table in Minecraft. According to the community-run Minecraft Wiki, Gravel only has a 10% chance of dropping Flint upon being broken. This chance can be increased up to 100% if players manage to acquire and use a Fortune-Enchanted tool. Nevertheless, those with a normal shovel must deal with the RNG rate to farm their Flint. While digging through Gravel, users should always bear in mind that Gravel has physics and will crush the player character if they are standing beneath the Gravel blocks. Once players finally acquire two pieces of Flint, they can combine them with four Planks to make the Fletching Table in Minecraft.
