One of the most exciting aspects of Minecraft is how vast the possibilities for creating and customizing structures, characters, and even the game itself. A great way to make your world look more appealing is to use blocks such as wool, terracotta, and banners to make your builds colorful and eye-catching. To make these decorative blocks, you need to craft them using different dyes so that you can choose what color you want to build with. One color that matches with many blocks within Minecraft is cyan! By the end of this guide, you will know how to craft cyan dye in the Java, Bedrock, and Education editions of Minecraft.
How to Make Cyan Dye in Minecraft
To craft cyan dye in Minecraft, you will need to find both a Cornflower and Cactus to make blue and green dye. Alternatively, wandering traders sell all types of dyes, including blue, green, and cyan. If you are playing Bedrock or Education edition, you will need to substitute blue dye for Lapis lazuli. Once you obtain blue and green dye, use them both in either your inventory or a crafting table to turn them into two cyan dyes. Where you place the dyes on the crafting grid does not matter, as long as they are both there.
Cornflowers can be found in plains, sunflower plains, flower forests, and mountain meadow biomes. They are a small, blue flower that is similar in shape to a poppy. Once you find one, you will need to craft the flower into blue dye. Cacti naturally spawn in desert and badlands biomes and can be found in stacks of one to three blocks. Once you find some, you will need to smelt the cactus using a furnace. Place the cactus in the furnace with a fuel material such as coal, wooden blocks, or a lava bucket. When it is finished smelting, green dye will appear.
If you are playing Minecraft Bedrock or Education edition, you can find Lapis lazuli in caves, mineshafts, shipwrecks, and temple chests. Wandering traders also sell Lapis lazuli in exchange for an emerald. Once you find some, you can use the Lapis with green dye to craft cyan dye.
Minecraft is available on PC, Android, iOS, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation platforms.
