Among the many tameable mobs in Minecraft, foxes are a favorite among players, yet they are somewhat challenging to domesticate. Foxes spawn in Minecraft‘s taiga biomes, the areas that combine both jungle and forest biomes. Players can recognize a taiga biome by its flora, such as spruce trees, ferns, and sweet berry bushes. How to Tame a Fox in Minecraft
To tame a fox in Minecraft, players must first gather sweet berries. Sweet berries can usually be found in Minecraft‘s taiga biome, where foxes also spawn. Find two foxes and feed both of them sweet berries to breed a tameable fox. This baby fox will follow the player as long as its parents aren’t around.
Minecraft: How to Breed Axolotls
Similar to rabbits in Minecraft, foxes will dart away if players directly approach them. However, they will stay calmer if the player crouches while moving towards them. A clever tactic would be to carefully build a wooden pen around two foxes. This way, they can’t escape the player but can stay close enough to each other for breeding. Feed them sweet berries to breed an adorable baby fox. Unlike its parents, the baby fox will not run away if approached by the player. However, it will only actively follow the player if its parents are either not near it or “disposed of.”
Players who do not wish to get rid of the baby fox’s parents can use a lead to take the tame fox to its new home.
