While Piglins in Minecraft are fun to barter with and observe, they don’t always have interesting drops. If you’re looking for resources like rotten flesh, gold ingots or gold tools, Zombified Piglins are another option! Even if monster drops aren’t a huge deal for you, zombifying a Piglin is also a fun experiment. This guide will explain how to turn a Piglin into a Zombified Piglin in Minecraft Java and Bedrock Editions.

How to Turn a Piglin Into a Zombified Piglin in Minecraft Java and Bedrock

In Minecraft Java and Bedrock Editions, the main way to turn a Piglin into a Zombified Piglin is by luring it into the End or the Overworld. To do this, you’ll want to anger the Piglin and turn it hostile, allowing it to follow you. Run towards your Nether Portal to lure the Piglin in, causing it to go inside and teleport into the Overworld. Alternatively, get it close to the Portal before using your fists or a knockback sword to hit it into the area. Upon doing this, it’ll freeze in one spot for some time before turning into a Zombified Piglin. You can do this with regular Piglins, brutes or even baby Piglin.

While this does not involve a Piglin, you can also turn regular pigs into zombified forms! You have four options for doing this:

  • Wait until it starts storming, and wish yourself some luck! While it’s fairly rare to hit the pig, it’s always possible!
  • Place a lightning rod, which is crafted using three copper ingots, near a pig. During storms, it’ll redirect lightning towards the rod.
  • Type in /summon lightning_bolt (x,y,z). Make sure you add specific coordinates, or else the lightning bolt will hit you instead!
  • Use a trident with the Channeling enchantment and hit the pig with it.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also use the lightning method on other monsters such as creepers, villagers and mushroom cows!
