Polar Bears are rare Minecraft animals that reside within the Snowy Plains, Ice Spikes, or Frozen Ocean biomes, and players that stumble upon these neutral mobs may wonder what kind of food they eat. As of the current patch, Polar Bears in Minecraft cannot be force-fed, bred, or tamed without using mods, but players can bring one to their home using a Lead. Leads are crafted with String x 4 and Slimeball x 1. To get Slimeballs, slay Slimes, which are frequently found within the Swampland biome. After leading a Polar Bear to one’s home, they can fence the area to create a pen.

What Do Polar Bears Eat in Minecraft

If Minecraft players choose to use mods for breeding or taming Polar Bears, they must find out what the mob eats. The drops from a slain Polar Bear will provide the answer: Raw Salmon or Raw Cod. Why it’s possible to dive into the water with a bucket to catch fish, using a Fishing Rod is much more reliable.

Minecraft: How to Breed Pigs

To craft a Fishing Rod in Minecraft, players will need to procure Sticks x 3 and String x 2. String can be found randomly within loot chests or gathered from breaking Cobwebs or killing Spiders. After making a rod, they can begin fishing for Salmon and Cod, the food that Minecraft Polar Bears like to eat. To catch fish faster, players can enchant their Fishing Rod with Lure, increasing the chance of getting a bite on one’s hook while fishing.

It is important to keep in mind that, while Polar Bears may be neutral, they will become hostile if players attack them or get too close to their young.
