Police recovered the items of missing YouTuber Desmond “Etika” Amofah on the Manhattan Bridge, according to the New York Post. Etika himself remains missing.
Five days prior, on June 19, Etika” posted a worrying video to his YouTube account. The now-deleted video expressed his desire to follow up on them. Friends and family had not heard from Etika since before the video went up. This alone is worrying since users can program when a video goes live.
Etika’s YouTube account is gone, while his Twitter and Instagram remain. His Facebook page has also been removed, making attempts to contact him through social media difficult. Police began searching for him following the worrisome video.
The items recovered late Saturday night were personal belongings. Among them were Etika’s wallet and identification, a Nintendo Switch, likely the same one seen in a few of his Instagram photos, his cell phone, and a laptop bag containing a change of clothes. A report from Kotaku claims police vehicles were searching the waters below but did not verify if it was related to the search.
