Pokémon Legends: Arceus is the latest entry in the Pokémon franchise, offering a new type of experience for mainline games. Instead of focusing on battles like in previous titles like Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, players will explore the Hisui region as they work to create the world’s first PokéDex. Users will find several quest types in the game along their travels, the most prominent being Missions and Requests. Here’s what differentiates the type quest types.

Missions are quests that advance the main story in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Those aiming to see the story through to its conclusion will need to complete the game’s Missions as they appear to and visit more of the Hisui Region.

Requests are Pokémon Legends: Arceus’s optional quests. These quests often offer unique rewards such as crafting materials, items, Exp Candies, and Poké Balls. Completing these will help players stockpile the resources they need to make their way through the game’s many missions, such as Pokémon Legends: Arceus is one of the most challenging mainline Pokémon games to date.

Additionally, players will need to complete Research Tasks to fill in entries in their PokéDex. Each Pokémon has unique tasks that players must tackle in Pokémon Legends: Arceus’s open world.
