The latest iteration of MLB The Show is now available for playing. As is the case with every sports video game and its respective player base, MLB The Show is a hit amongst baseball fans. However, unlike all the previous versions (since 2006) of MLB The Show, which were exclusive to Playstation, the game is now also playable on the Xbox platform. Apart from playing with friends on the same platform, players can also play together even if they are on different platforms. Here is everything you need to know about the Cross-play feature and how to play with friends in MLB The Show 21.

Playing with friends in MLB The Show 21

Make sure that you have added the friend you want to play with. Once done, you need to select your profile that is located in the top left corner. The profile will have your character photo in it with your IGN written in front of it. Open your profile, then select the “Friends” option displayed on the screen. A drop-down menu displaying every friend on your account will pop up. Click on the friend you want to play with and finally select the “Invite to Exhibition Game” option. After the selected friend accepts your invitation, you’ll be directed to a match screen where you can customize the game details and how you want it to be.

If you want to play with a friend who is on an opposite platform, you’ll need to add them manually. Press the touchpad if you are on a Playstation, and similarly press the Select button if you are on an Xbox. A menu with the “Friends” option will pop up, which you need to select. Finally, select the “Send New Friend Request” option and enter the name of the player you want to add manually. Once the player accepts your request, you will be able to play with them.
