Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II has opened its first multiplayer beta, and PlayStation owners can join in on the fun early. Unfortunately, it doesn’t launch without hiccups; a growing number of players reported that their games keep crashing and/or they encounter a specific error message. If you’re one of those unlucky players that saw the CE-108255-1 error message or other crashes, here’s the known solution and fix to COD: Modern Warfare 2 beta crash situations.

The Solution to Modern Warfare 2 Beta Keeps Crashing

Some players suggest that restarting COD: Modern Warfare 2 could be a solution to the crashing problem. If that doesn’t work, you can also try resetting your PC or console. Reddit user u/psn1453 suggest that PS4 users might want to try rebuilding their console’s database. Here’s how:

  • Turn off your PS4 by pressing and holding the power button on the console.
  • Once the console is off, press and hold the power button again. Release it after you hear the second beep — one beep will sound when you first press, and another seven seconds later. The second beep means the console has entered Safe Mode.
  • Using a USB cable, plug the DualShock 4 controller to the PS4 and press the PlayStation button on the controller.
  • Then pick the “5: Rebuild Database” option.
  • Follow any instructions and wait for it to finish.

Meanwhile, if you’re playing on the PS5 and keep seeing the CE-108255-1 error message, you need to troubleshoot the problem in a different way. Continue reading below.
