Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remake is yet to be officially hit the streets (although some people are able to play it early), but a number of COD: Modern Warfare 2 players already reported that they encountered a rather annoying glitch in the Prison Break level, making the “Free Alejandro” objective cannot be completed and now they are looking for a fix.

In the level, if everything goes well, Ghost should be ready to break Alejandro’s cell door with a set of bolt cutters. However, if Ghost is nowhere to be seen, then obviously you have encountered a bug that made Ghost gets stuck somewhere in the previous section of the mission. Thankfully, you do not need to restart the whole Prison Break level from scratch.

Fix the “Free Alejandro” Glitch in COD: Modern Warfare 2 Prison Break Level

As demonstrated by YouTuber Byron Ramos in the video above, the “Free Alejandro” glitch in COD: Modern Warfare 2 Prison Break level happens when Ghost ends up getting stuck somewhere in the area. To fix it, simply search for Ghost by going back the way you came through the prison block — the AI NPC is probably stuck somewhere close. Keep your eyes peeled for any dark corners or other cells, and make sure that he is not glitching through any objects like walls, doors, or crates.

Then once you find where Ghost is, all you need to do is throw a Flashbang at him. This will force the NPC to stumble and reset his pathfinding AI. A few seconds later, Ghost should run up to Alejandro’s cell and readied the bolt cutters to force the cell door to open. Then, all you have to do is interact with the door and Alejandro will be free.
